International Friendship Circle

At

Lenape Valley Regional High School

The International Friendship Circle (IFC) is a group of students, interested in different cultures and traditions, as they are represented in Lenape’s student population and our  World Language Department. We want to create awareness and appreciation of the cultural diversity at our school.

Over the course of the school year IFC provides fun activities for students to experience different cultures hands on, like decorating castanets or Chinese fans, carving pumpkins, preparing ethnic food, and offering Sports Around the World during lunch. Each year we also organize a Scary Movie Night on Halloween, a Chinese New Year Celebration in January/February, a Mardi Gras Dance in February/March, or a Cinco De Mayo Fiesta in May.

As an official club we raise money through various fund raisers, like selling Advent calendars in November, candy grams before the holdiday break, and cake pops on Valentine’s day. Half of our proceeds go to different charities, like The Water Works, Heifer, UNICEF, the other half goes to small scholarships for graduating seniors.

"Together the world is connected through different cultures!"
